Never say "never"! Just a few short years ago we would have never considered apartment living. Then "life happened" and circumstances changed. We have been living at "The Hammocks" for two years now.
As empty nesters, this lifestyle is perfect! It was totally liberating to rid ourselves of the responsibilities of owning a home. We also rid ourselves of all the clutter one collects over many years in a home. When we downsized, we got rid of anything we didn't use or didn't love.
The slogan "Love where you live" is exactly on the mark. We feel blessed to live in such a beautiful place surrounded by only what is special to us. We are now just "free to be"!

Why do we love living at The Hammocks, you ask?
Answering this is a simple task.
As we drive in, the first thing to be seen
Is the Nicklaus-designed golf course, beautifully green.
... We don't have to worry about shoveling snow,
There's a golf course to walk by we don't have to mow.
We have our own pool that we don't have to clean;
with our very own personal lifeguard team.
If our tires get flat or our car needs to be cleaned,
We pull it on up to the car-care machine.
We go to the movie room, second to none,
To watch a movie with our grandsons.
What if we plan a big party, you say?
We reserve the stylish clubhouse, and party away!
Nature trails and the river are there to enjoy.
Grab your bike, go fishing, go hiking, Oh Boy!
Since moving to The Hammocks at Timber Banks,
our life has turned into a "lifestyle", much thanks.

My husband and I always look forward to coming HOME to our peaceful environment at the Hammocks! We have so many choices... should we workout in the Fitness Center, go for a walk, play golf, or simply relax in the sun poolside with our favorite book? We have (3) Grand Children who absolutely love to swim. Needless to say, they visit us often... which we love! They said, "Nana and Papa - you live in a really cool place!"

So you ask Why do I love living at The Hammocks?
I was sent to Syracuse, New York in October 2009 by my employer in Michigan to work on a hospital project on the campus of Syracuse University. This would be a 3 year job and I had two weeks to find somewhere to live and move in.
As I toured the area, nothing was sparking my interest until I drove north towards a small town called Baldwinsville and ran across a sign on River Road which said, The Hammocks at Timber Banks. I drove into this new community and knew right then that I had found my home away from home.
As I entered the property I proceeded down a long drive and came upon the Timber Banks Golf Course, it was love at first sight. I could live and play golf right in my own backyard. I drove back up the road I came and turned into the apartment complex. Perfect looking uniformed buildings standing on each side of a landscaped commons area.
I decided to park my car and visit the Community Building and see about becoming a tenant. Walking in the front door I was greeted with beautiful decor and rooms that were inviting me to sit down get comfortable. Browsing around the building I see the gym room which would be a source of after-work activity and fitness. I walk into the locker room which was spotlessly clean and walk out another door into the pool area. What a great place to spend my summer evenings and weekends.
What I notice throughout my wanderings was how new and clean everything was. I was sure that this property was going to be the right choice. I have now lived in my apartment for two years and am as happy with the condition of the property as I was that first day I drove in. The staff truly makes a point to be sure that everything is in top notch condition.

I moved in June 2011. One of the best decisions I have made in many years. Sarah and Katherine are always very helpful. It is so quiet, clean and peaceful here with friendly neighbors. The landscaping is always taken care of and improved. The things that I need most, such as banks and markets are within 10 minutes of me. I will most likely be here for a number of years
I am a Texan and for the last 24 years I have lived in the Dallas area. In June, at the age of 82, I made a huge life style change.
For years my daughter in Liverpool and my son in Erie, PA, had been encouraging me to move closer to them. They didn’t like my driving 3,000 miles round trip to come to visit. I kept putting it off until I came to spend Christmas and New Years with my daughter in Liverpool last year.
One day I sat down to the computer and started to research apartments in the Syracuse area. Now I have never been one to live in a large city so I concentrated on the suburbs. The more I looked the more I liked the Baldwinsville area. High on my list of requirements was a garage. Remember, I am from Texas and ya’all receive a lot of snow up here.
I was really surprised that a lot of the "A" class apartments didn’t have garages so my list to check out was really quite short. Still I thought it would take me all day to check each complex on my list. Not so. Some of the places I didn’t even go into the office. The last on my list was The Hammocks; it just happened that way.
When I turned off of River Road and I could see the complex my mood started to lighten up. Of course one of the first things I noticed was that the roads were plowed and the sidewalks were clear. When I went into the office I was met by Christine (no longer here). She was very helpful in explaining the facilities and offered to show me an apartment of my choosing. I was interested in a 2 bedroom, with 2 baths on the first floor facing the course. Within minutes of entering the apartment I knew that I had found my new home.

After my very first visit to The Hammocks at Timber Banks, I felt it would be a great place to live and I soon discovered I was right. When I met with the leasing agent, Sarah, I noticed right away that she was friendly, knowledgeable, and organized. I felt that I would be in good hands if I leased an apartment at the Hammocks. I also noticed the peaceful atmosphere and beautifully well-maintained grounds. While the apartments are in very close proximity to stores, restaurants, and shopping, they are situated in just the right spot on a quiet section off of River Road. One of my favorite things to do is sit on my balcony while relaxing with a cup of coffee and enjoying the scenery. I also love the newsletter that the Hammocks at Timber Banks distributes to the residents. I can find out what's going on within the Hammocks, read about other local events, and even try some great seasonal recipes listed there. After living in four other CNY rentals over the last 6+ years, I can honestly say I finally feel at home! Tessa

As you enter the area you are greeted by an American and Canadian flag. The flowers and grounds are kept up nice. The golf course and pool are beautiful. We enjoy sitting on our balcony. The layout of the apartments is very nice. The bedrooms and bathrooms with showers are a good size. Maintenance people (if needed) are always ready to help tenants. Security is very good. I was happy to see a contest like this come along for the month of September. We recently moved into the hammocks after living in our house for 20 years. This was the best place to move into as the staffing has been great and the all around area of people are very pleasant.
Prior to moving in we came to the Hammocks to see the setup of the apartments. Upon entering the office, we were greeted by a woman named Sarah. Sarah has been such a pleasant person and is always smiling whenever we have gone into the clubhouse.
The maintenance gentleman Mischa, is extremely helpful when things have to be done around the apartment and very prompt on doing the work. He is always very personable when he is on the job or off the job. Willing to help at anytime of the day is always a plus.
We are amazed at the spacious living in the apartments. The people around us are all very pleasant and always acknowledge eachother with a smile and hello.
The lifegaurds that were at the pool were very polite and very interactive with the guests at the pool. The upkeep of the pool and the area is very clean and well groomed.
The final touch of the Hammocks Apartment living is the main office and clubhouse. It is very clean and gives you a homey feeling upon entering. The grounds around the apartments are well kept and beautifully decorated. The decor inside the clubhouse is very beautiful.
There is one special individual who is the office manager, Kathryn. She is always open and available to assist people when the leasing conultant is unavailable. She is also very prompt for a property manager to handle situations andn advise the tenant as to when the situation will be addressed.
I personally would recomend the Hammocks Apartment living to all of my friends that were looking for the comfortable apartment living. Lisa
Living at Timber Banks is also living on the Seneca River. Our River Trail is an unexpected treasure. Walking along and smelling the wild flowers or taking a lunch and enjoying the view from our new gazebo makes you feel so good and gets you out in the fresh air. Don't forget your camera- we have a resident Great Blue Heron and soon the fall colors will change our trees to spectacular hues of red, yellow and orange. I love it here and more folks will too when you discover the path to the left of the Marina docks, it's so beautiful! Sandy
